stupid knitty. stupid knitty and their cute patterns! sure, i'm almost done with the blankie, but can i work on it? no, i had to start these cute mittens. they're working up quite fast. i started them saturday night, and got all this done yesterday in the car and at the barbeque. i think mine will be a bit longer than the ones in the photo on the pattern because i used a different yarn (hi, i can't follow directions!), but they are very cute and so far they fit just fine. the pattern seems forgiving. i want to tell you more about seeing the raconteurs, but i've got some knitting to do and some bad television to watch. i will say, though, that jack white seemed to be having a hell of a good time, the fillmore has horrible ventilation and no air conditioning that i could sense, if you like the album you would have loved the show, i'm fairly certain at this point that i must dye my hair black again, and i am super glad i went. i think i need more rock in my life. more hard rock guitars, please! even my sweet boy knows the value of rock.

I went to see underworld 2 at the theater. it thought it was great in a no-plot-having-vampires-fighting-werewolves kind of way. but I had also taken a xanax and drank a pitcher of beer so make of that what you will.
hmm, lately i have been contemplating falling back into a bottle of black dye myself. i'm just not sure i can commit, though. i think i'll go red again, but not as red as the one pictured here. that was just too much work.
o knitty is evil. did you see the sock monkey hat? i heart it, but due to lack of time i am going to get my mom to make it for me :)
fart on patterns. "anything you can do, i can do better" is the mantra for patterns. they are _suggestions_! there will always be some person (or dog) that the finished product fits. especially a hat with a super double cable that pulls the yarn extra tight so that the hat stands up perfectly straight. i love a certain cable. i can't find the pattern right now, but it looks like a cross between these two:
